If you’re new to online TV streaming, like me, then some quick tips from my experience with activating an account will help get things started much quicker as I now know what goes into activating a Hulu account after doing so with little success a couple of weeks ago!
I have had a lot of friends and clients ask me if I know what Hulu Activate is and how it works? You, too, may have heard of it, but you’re not sure what Hulu activate is and how it works. Let’s take a look at what the service offers and how to get started!

Hulu offers a wide variety of channels from across the spectrum. Here’s just a few: HBO, SHOWTIME, NBC, ABC, FOX NEWS CHANNEL*, CNN* and many more!

For the majority of homeowners, replacing regular tv with an online streaming service like Hulu or Netflix is not an option. But, if you live in an area with reliable internet connection and speed, getting Hulu provides your home with a wide selection of channels at an affordable price than cable tv subscriptions.
And, if you are worried that the Hulu streaming service may limit the number of channels you can get, you will be surprised with the list of channels you can get with Hulu streaming.

Is Hulu free with Amazon Prime?
Hulu Is not free with Amazon Prime. If you have an Amazon Prime streaming stick, you will have to pay a monthly fee in order to use the Hulu streaming service on your Amazon Prime membership.
Nonetheless, the price you pay for Hulu and Amazon Prime streaming is relatively cheaper than most cable tv subscriptions.

What equipment is needed for Hulu?
Most streaming beginners assume you need special equipment to stream content via Hulu streaming services.
The truth is, you do not need any special equipment. All that’s needed to watch Hulu streaming content on your laptop or desktop computer is an internet connection and Adobe Flash Player installed in your browser (most popular browsers will have this already).
Hulu also has mobile apps available for viewing the service as well as Apple TV and Google Chromecast support.
Hulu streaming with Chromecast also comes with a remote control which makes navigating through the channels so much easier than using only a keyboard/mouse combo.
Another benefit would be its portability because it can be plugged into 1080p TVs or monitors without having to connect cables from the device to display.
How to activate your account?
Activating your Hulu account is as straightforward as it can be for a modern streaming service. All you need to do is go to the website, enter your email and password then agree with Hulu’s Terms of Use.
If you’re not a subscriber yet or this is the first time using Hulu, there will be an option to sign up that can take care of everything from credit card information to automatic billing.
Hulu offers many plans in order to suit different needs but they only offer one at any given moment, so look over all of them before making your decision.
Once subscribed, log into your account on their site by entering your email address and password, then follow the prompts for linking devices (it might ask you for an iOS device PIN, which is provided during your subscription process).
So, when you are prompted to provide the code, go ahead and enter the one-time code as when logging back into Hulu on another device, it won’t require you to re-enter that activation code again.
Why is Hulu asking for an activation code?
The Hulu Activate process will often ask for an activation code to be entered in order to register the device with your account. This is usually a one-time-only requirement so you can go ahead and enter it when prompted as there’s no need to re-enter this on other devices.
Generally, Hulu will only ask for your activation code if the device you are attempting to access Hulu premium content from has never been registered on your multiscreen account. Typically, Hulu will only require that you register one device as soon as you subscribe.
To authenticate your Hulu account, log into your account on their site by entering your email address and password. Follow the prompts for linking devices, including giving you the activation code you need to register more devices to your Hulu account.
If you are using the Hulu mobile app, it might ask you for an iOS device PIN which is the activation code provided to you during your subscription process.
So, when you are prompted to provide the code, go into your Hulu account on their website, and they will provide you with a unique activation code for adding your devices to the mainstreaming account.
How many devices can you have Hulu on?
Hulu’s subscription plans determine the total number you can have on your account.
As a general rule of thumb, you can have up to five devices registered with your regular Hulu account at any given time, but be sure that you are not just adding a device for the sake of having more than one.
Hulu’s Unlimited screen plus accounts can add as many devices as you wish as long as they are all streaming from the same IP address.
If you decide it is necessary to add another device, make sure to go into your online Hulu account and remove whichever ones from the list don’t need registering anymore.
If you do this while some other devices are linked, they won’t get deleted automatically, so try deleting them manually by going through each step in the process again.
How long does it take for Hulu to activate?
Activating Hulu is almost instantaneous, however, sometimes setting up new accounts and getting your account streaming may take time due to prevailing circumstances beyond control.
Generally, It can take up to one hour for your activation code to be processed by Hulu technical support team. In the event that you are having trouble accessing premium content, I recommend that you wait at least an hour before trying again to reconnect if you are not successful the first time.
If after 12 hours there is still no change in your status, please reach out directly by calling or emailing Hulu. Possibly have a different device next to you that you either have activated or intend to have it activated. The Hulu support team will look into how fast to get you up and running on all of your activated devices for you!

I like Hulu as they offer tons of great programming in one place, including many recent popular blockbuster movies releases as well as television series episodes organized in various categories such as Comedy, Drama, or Family Friendly-Content just like Netflix.
Why my Hulu activation code isn’t working?
Activating your Hulu account on a new device and activation code is sometimes without its drama. But, if you are having Hulu activation problems, the problems for your code not working may be beyond the need to have it replaced with a new one.
Typically, installed online security software and browsers are the main cause for Hulu Activation’s failure to work. To fix the Hulu activation code issue, change your browser and try to reconnect to the Hulu server to authenticate your activation code.
If you have a security software application installed, you would have to whitelist Hulu or temporarily disable it before attempting to authenticate your Hulu account activation code.
But, if you have already tried and encountered an activation code error, then you might need to flush your browser (Internet Explorer) to get your activation code working.
There are simple steps you can use to reboot your Internet Explorer, and here’s how to do it:
Go to the bottom left of your computer window and type in CMD to find the command prompt inside your search box. Launch the command by pressing the ENTER button on your keyboard to execute the” IP config /flush DNS” protocol immediately after pressing enter to flush your IP from the error log on the server and browser.
These steps help to Delete all server-related Temporary Internet Files that cause your Hulu activation code not to work.
Launching this process will refresh your browser cache with new information from Hulu’s servers about which devices you have activated for streaming content through your account.

Troubleshooting steps for activating your account
The Hulu customer support is always at hand to help customers who are experiencing issue with activation process once they sign up to the streaming service. If you are not able to stream or activate your Hulu account, troubleshooting the steps for activating your account will resolve any of the issues you are having.
- Check your email for a confirmation link
- If you have not received the email, check your spam folder or contact customer service
- Sign into your account and click on “activate my account” in the top right corner of the page
- Enter your username and password to log in
- Click on “I’m having trouble activating my account” to start troubleshooting steps
- Contact customer service if you are still having issues with the activation
